Ligne Roset has partnered with Velocity Arts and Entertainment and Emmanuelle Atelier for this special event. Ligne Roset recently developed eco-conscious upholstery to meet environment friendly standards.

Recently she has begun to partner and consult on designs for smart wearables and new tech applications for fashion brands.

In fiscal year 2012, Customs & Border Protection (CBP) seized more than $21.92 million worth of textiles for Quota/Visa and Intellectual Property Rights violations. Customs & Border Protection CBP also issued 21 penalties worth about $23 million. Customs & Border Protection CBP reported that it conducted more than 10,000 exams, which resulted in more than 1,000 samples being analyzed at its lab, and initiated 39 audits.

In 2011 alone, Customs & Border Protection CBP visited 165 factories in 9 countries. During these visits it was discovered 27% of the reviews showed a violation of the trade preference program claimed on the entry and 22% showed a discrepancy related to illegal transshipment.

“Mobile Shopping and the Future of Retail”

According to new research from international technology investment banking and advisory group GP Bullhound, apparel is the second-largest and fastest growing e-commerce category in the US, estimated at $41 billion, and there are now over 2000 online fashion sites competing in the market, up 126% year-on-year. Mobile device site visit share has nearly doubled from 2012 to around 25% on average today and the sales conversion rate on mobile tablets has surpassed traditional for the very first time. Now, savvy brands and retailers are embracing omni-channel and contextual marketing strategies to engage, interact, and in many ways define new relationships with consumers where they work, live and play.
